Hey all,
So I figured out how to blog from my phone and it should be pretty easy. It is the morning of our second day in Mumbai and it is certainty an interesting experience.
We started the trip absolutely exhausted from 36 hours of continuous travel: 12 hour layover in London where we got to explore the city, drink at a local pubs and see the police training for the Olympics. Buckingham palace was unfortunately closed but it was still fun. We also were running on no sleep so were not totally with it. I woke up from a nap in London seeing the sunset and thinking we were in Bahrain and it was 9 am, not 9 pm and being totally confused. Next was our 5 hour layover in Bahrain. By this point, we were completely delirious from our lack of sleep.
We had a full day in Mumbai yesterday and got lost in the city for a few hours. Trying to get back, I said to David:
"hey, you think this is one of those cool markets we heard about? Wanna cut through?"
He shrugged:
"sure"
Unfortunately we ended in the slums of the slums seeing feces, rabid dogs, a She-man and hundreds of people that were not happy to see us there. It was an experience to say the least.
We tried our best to experience the real India by taking the bus and unbelievably over-crowded train, eating at some local food joints and sipping on tea.
Another day in Mumbai today and then off to Delhi.
